On Earth,
There were days and nights,
Usual, ordinary, and regular; but
There came a time when
The days grew longer, the nights shrank; and
Then the nights stretched, and the days vanished.
I asked the sun, “Where is the day?”
He replied, “The moon stole it.”
“Where is the moon?” I inquired.
He answered, “She is hiding.”
“Where?” I asked.
“Somewhere between you and me,” was his response.
I wondered, “But why?”
“You can ask when you find her,” he answered plainly.
Since then,
I have been looking for the moon.
