Mumbai: After taking over the probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has narrowed down its focus on 14 people.
Here’s the list:
Rhea Chakraborty
Rhea was Sushant’s girlfriend, and is the prime suspect in the case. Rhea had left the actor’s house on June 8, a few days before his death. Sushant’s family has accused her of siphoning off money from his account, and harassing him mentally. Sushant’s father has also accused Rhea of abetting his son’s suicide.
Shouvik Chakraborty
Shouvik Chakraborty is the brother of Rhea Chakraborty and was the director in two of the companies floated by Sushant. The late actor’s family claims these companies were used to siphon off Sushant’s money.
Siddharth Pithani
Siddharth Pithani was Sushant’s close friend and his flatmate. He was present in the house on June 14, when Sushant was found dead. He has told the CBI that Sushant and Rhea had a fight before she left the house on June 8.
Neeraj Singh
He used to work as a cook at Sushant’s house in Mumbai. He was also present on the day the actor was found dead. The CBI is questioning him.
Keshav
He was Sushant’s domestic help. He was also present at the actor’s house on June 14, and gave him banana, juice and coconut water for breakfast (according to what he has told the CBI).
Deepesh Sawant
Deepesh Sawant was Sushant’s housekeeping manager and used to stay with him. He was among the people who first spotted the actor’s body.
Samuel Miranda
Samuel Miranda was Rajput’s former housekeeping manager. He was appointed by Rhea Chakraborty in May last year. He used to manage all the household expenses. Sushant’s family claims Miranda helped Rhea in the entire plan.
Mahesh Shetty
He is a common friend of Sushant and Rhea. It has been reported that the late actor had called Shetty the night before he died, but they couldn’t speak. The CBI and other agencies involved in the probe are questioning Shetty to know about the relationship between Rhea and Sushant.
Sandeep Ssingh
Sandeep Ssingh claims he was a close friend of Sushant. He wasn’t in touch with the late actor after September 2019, but Sushant’s family doesn’t trust him.
Surjeet Singh Rathore
Surjeet Singh Rathore is a member of the Karni Sena and has linked Sushant’s death with Dubai.
Jaya Saha
Jaya Saha worked as talent manager for Sushant. Her name was revealed after a link with drugs came to fore in the probe in Sushant’s death. Jaya has been accused of giving drugs to the late actor. The investigators have said that Rhea spoke to Jaya twice on phone on June 14 and five times on June 15.
Gaurav Arya
Gaurav Arya has also been linked to the drugs angle. Investigators believe he used to supply drugs to Rhea.
Indrajeet Chakraborty
Indrajeet Chakraborty is Rhea’s father. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons to him in connection with the probe into missing Rs 15 crore from Sushant’s account.
Rajat Mewati
Rajat Mewati was Sushant’s former accountant. He was fired after Rhea came in contact with Sushant. He has claimed that transparency in handling of Sushant’s fund ended after Rhea entered his life, NDTV reported.
