T20 World Cup Horror Show: Indian Batsmen Come A Cropper, Manage Just 110/7

Dubai: In an utter horror show, Team India’s famed batting line-up flopped once again in the T20 World Cup here on Sunday evening.

Asked to bat first after New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss, India limped their way to a paltry 110 for 7 in their quota of 20 overs.

None of the batsmen got going and struggled against the disciplined effort of both pacers and spinners in what is a must-win game for both teams after they lost their opening games to Pakistan.

Ishan Kishan, getting a chance in the XI as Surya Kumar Yadav wasn’t fit, opened the batting with KL Rahul but perished after a solitary boundary.

Rahul (18 off 16 balls), Rohit Sharma (14 off 14), Virat Kohli (9 off 17) and Rishabh Pant (12 off 19) looked lost without any gameplan. Hardik Pandya (23) and Ravindra Jadeja (26 not out) tried to make amends, but it was too little too late.

Trent Boult was the best NZ bowler with figures of 3/20 in 4 overs. Spinners Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi conceded a mere 32 runs in their 8 overs.
