Take ‘Special Care’ Of Kashmiri Students: AICTE To College Principals
New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked the heads of all technical institutes across the country to take “special care” of students from Jammu and Kashmir.
The missive to the college principals followed the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370.
Special advice has been issued to those institutes who are covered under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme for the Jammu and Kashmir students, an AICTE statement said.
A few institutes in Odisha are also covered under the scheme.
The scholarship scheme is a merit-based scholarship programme that covers the cost of higher education tuition of Jammu and Kashmir students outside their state. The programme was launched in 2011 and since then more than 10,000 students have availed benefits from the scheme.
