Balangir: A school teacher allegedly raped a college girl and later made the photos viral on social media at Muribahal area in Balangir district.
Family members of the girl lodged a complaint in this regard in the Muribahal police station on Friday.
As per the complaint, in first week of February, the girl was waiting for bus at Ganrei Square to go to college. The accused teacher, Gano Selama, offered her lift. But instead of dropping her at college, he took her into a forest and allegedly raped her. The accused also convinced her not to reveal the matter to anyone by promising to marry her. The matter came to light after Gano posted the photos on social media.
Based on the complaint filed by the girl’s family members, the police has started investigation into the matter and sent the girl for medical examination. Meanwhile, the accused teacher is absconding, said the sources.
