Patna: Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, has referred to a ‘Jaichand’ in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), in his first post addressed to his parents since his expulsion from the party last Sunday. Tej Pratap had clearly indicated that this ‘greedy’ person invited his father against him.
Jaichand is said to have betrayed famous Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan when he fought against Muhammad Ghori in the Second Battle of Tarain.
In the X post, Tej Pratap has described his parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, as his “whole world.”
“My Dear Mummy and Papa. My whole world is just the two of you. You and any order given by you are greater than God for me. If you are there then I have everything. I just need your trust and love and nothing else. Papa, if you were not there then this party would not have been there and neither would greedy people like Jaichand who did politics with me. Just Mummy and Papa. May both of you be healthy and happy always,” Tej Pratap posted.
On May 25, Lalu had expelled Tej Pratap from both the RJD and the family for six years on ethical grounds. This came a day after a photograph surfaced on Tej Pratap’s Facebook page, showing him with a woman named Anushka Yadav. The photograph also had a purported message by Tej Pratap, stating that he was in a relationship with the woman for 12 years.
Divorce proceedings are presently on between Tej Pratap and his wife.
After the photograph appeared, Tej Pratap claimed that his Facebook account was hacked by someone who wanted to tarnish his image and that of his family.
After Lalu’s decision to expel Tej Pratap, nobody came forward to sort out the matter between father and son. Even his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav – the RJD’s chief minister face for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections – endorsed Lalu’s decision in a rather tame manner.
Tejashwi’s second child was born a couple of days after that incident. Tej Pratap had then congratulated him and his wife and expressed happiness for having become a ‘Bade Papa’ all over again.
