London: The White Tiger, which stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Adarsh Gourav, have earned several spots in the longlist for this year’s British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).
Helmed by Iranian-American director and screenwriter Ramin Bahrani, The White Tiger was released on Netflix on January 22.
Priyanka has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category, while Gourav will fight for the Best Actor accolade.
The film revolves around Gourav’s character Balram Halwai, who is a loyal servant to Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) and and Pinky (Priyanka). Balram has been shown as someone who tries to break free from barriers of poverty and caste by becoming a driver for the Indian-American couple.
The White Tiger has also made the list for Best Film, along with Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Editing categories.
The film has received positive reviews and been praised by several celebrities, including Priyanka’s husband Nick Jonas.
