Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for 18 districts in the state.
Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Malkangiri and Gajapati from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm, a Met office release said.
People in these districts have been advised to take shelter in nearby buildings or other safety locations during this period.
