Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm coupled with gusty wind, lightning and rain is likely to hit at least 12 districts of Odisha on Wednesday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message issued at 1.30 pm, the IMD sounded alert for Anugul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghapur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Puri, Sonepur, and Sundargarh districts.
Light to moderate thunderstorms with surface wind reaching 40 kmph with moderate rain, lightning may occur at a few places in these 12 districts in next 3 hours, it said.
