Tokyo Olympics Women’s Hockey: Vandana Katariya’s Hat-Trick Keeps Indian Hopes Alive

Tokyo: Vandana Katariya achieved the distinction of being the first Indian woman hockey player to score a hat-trick at the Olympics as India edged past South Africa 4-3 in a Women’s pool A match of the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday.

By virtue of the victory, the Indian women are in contention to make it to their first-ever quarterfinal if Ireland loses/draws to/with Great Britain (match at 5:15 pm IST) later in the day.

If Ireland manages to post a victory, it will go through to the last eight on better goal difference.
