Trader Shot At In Broad Daylight In Odisha’s Cuttack
Cuttack: Panic gripped Kandarpur area, on the outskirts of the city, after a trader was shot at by two unidentified miscreants on Thursday afternoon.
Sources said that Khirod Sahu, a businessman of Jagatsinghpur, was on his way to Cuttack in an autorickshaw to purchase groceries from Malgodown near College Square when two bike-borne miscreants intercepted the vehicle near Athanga under Kandarpur police limits and opened fire on him. When Sahu fell off the vehicle after a bullet hit him in his thigh, the miscreants snatched his bag containing Rs 1 lakh and fled.
On being informed, Kandarpur police rushed to the spot and admitted Sahu to SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
Later, a team of police led by the ACP, Special Squad, Ajay Das arrived at the hospital to collect the details of the incident from the injured businessman.
Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched to nab the two miscreants.
This is the second such incident in Kandarpur area. On August 30, a betel shop owner had murdered former principal of Kandarpur College Sudarshan Satpathy (77) near Siddheswarpur on August 30.
