Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed ongoing development projects and administrative activities in Boudh during a visit to the district on Sunday.

While expressing satisfaction over the district’s progress, the CM stressed the need to expedite delayed works and maintain quality standards.

During the review meeting, it was revealed that a road project worth Rs 28 crore has recently been initiated to enhance connectivity in the region. This apart, major infrastructure projects, including a 300-bed hospital, a new bus stand, and a railway station, are nearing completion. These projects will be inaugurated very soon.

While interacting with the District Collector and senior officials, the Chief Minister sought updates on the progress of various departmental works. He directed the administration to accelerate sluggish projects and ensure their completion within stipulated timelines.

Majhi held detailed discussions on key sectors such as rural development, road and transport infrastructure, healthcare, education, irrigation, agriculture, women empowerment, and industry. He appreciated the implementation of several flagship schemes, including Mission Shakti, Mid-Day Meal Programme, Chief Minister’s Antyodaya Scheme and public grievance redressal initiatives.

Noting that significant progress has been made in improving roads, bridges, drinking water supply, and health and education infrastructure, the CM cautioned against complacency, calling for stricter inspection mechanisms to ensure quality and transparency.

Stressing the need for public participation, Majhi said, “Local people must be informed and involved in the development process. Their input is essential to ensure transparency and community ownership.”

He acknowledged challenges such as land acquisition delays, funding constraints, and manpower shortages, and assured state-level support to resolve these issues. “If required, I will personally intervene,” he added.

Calling for focused attention on education, health, sports, and agriculture, the Chief Minister directed the administration to prioritize infrastructure development in schools and hospitals, and to modernize agricultural facilities. He instructed officials to prepare an action plan accordingly.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to good governance, Majhi said there must be transparency in all government schemes and efficient use of public funds and any irregularities will be dealt with immediately.”

The CM announced plans to develop industry, tourism, and renewable energy sectors, and directed that a detailed development roadmap be prepared within a month.
