Puri: Panic gripped Nuagada village under Astarang block in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday morning after a twister blew away an asbestos roof and overturned a tractor.
According to reports, the incident took around 10 am when twister suddenly intensified and passed through the village with strong velocity. Such was the intensity that a tractor kept on the backyard of one Basant Nayak was pushed to a distance of about 100 metres. Besides, the paddy and hay stacks of Nayak were completely blown away. Besides, asbestos roof of a house was also blown away.
The twister weakened three minutes after creating havoc in the village. However, there was no loss of life, the reports added.
