New Delhi: Two Indian High Commission staffers in Pakistan have been missing since Monday morning, according to news reports.

Both the missing staffers are CISF drivers and were out on duty pertaining to the High Commission. However, they did not reach their destinations, raising alarm bells, India Today reported quoting unnamed sources.

The sources also said that the Indian government has taken up the matter with the Pakistani authorities concerned.

Commenting on the report, former Indian diplomat Sharat Sabarwal criticised Pakistan for not observing the code of conduct.

Defence expert AK Singh also criticised Pakistan and said this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.

The latest incident comes weeks after the vehicle of India’s Charge d’ Affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia was chased by a member of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Islamabad, Times of India reported.

In March, the Indian High Commission had sent a strong protest note to the Pakistani foreign ministry against continuing harassment, including aggressive tailing, of its officials and staffers by Pakistani agencies.
