Bhubaneswar: The coronavirus has claimed two more lives in Odisha in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to five on Sunday.
These two deaths have been reported for corona hotspot Ganjam, which has so far seen 292 COVID-19 cases with 30 recoveries.
Details of the patients are awaited.
The district had earlier seen one corona death while two more from Bhubaneswar had died of the disease.
The state had reported its first COVID-19 death on April 6 when a 72-year-old man infected with coronavirus succumbed at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar. He was a resident of Jharpada in Bhubaneswar. A 77-year-old (male) patient of Madhusudan Nagar, Bhubaneswar. with underlying co-morbidities of hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease, had then died at KIMS COVID hospital on May 6. The third death was reported from Ganjam and he was a Surat returnee.
