Paralakhemundi: An under-trial prisoner lodged in the sub-jail in Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district died on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Jaipal Singh, a native of Haryana.
Sources in the jail said that the Singh was arrested a month ago for illegal trafficking of ganja and lodged in the sub-jail.
While in jail, he fell seriously ill. He was recently admitted to the district headquarters hospital.
Police have taken the body of the deceased for post mortem and informed the family members.
