Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Thursday directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to undertake repair of Jaya-Vijaya Dwar of Jagannath Temple in Puri between July 15 and 25, during the nine-day annual sojourn of the Lords.
The court has asked the officials concerned to complete the repair work within those 10 days by working 12 hours a day.
Hearing a case pertaining to Jagamohan repair, the court also directed the ASI to inspect the status of Mausima and Gundicha temples.
The ASI, in an affidavit, appraised the court that the repair work of the weak portion of the temple inside the Bedha has been taken up.
Besides, the NK Mohanty Commission also submitted its status report on Jagamohan repair work before the court.
The Commission, in its report, has stated that temple administration and the ASI are not serious about early completion of the repair work.
In response to this, the court asked the Commission to inform the court, if any delay in Jagamohan repair work has bee witnessed by it.
The next hearing in the case is on July 30.
