‘Uri The Surgical Strike’ Rakes In Moolah At Box Office

Mumbai: ‘Uri, The Surgical Strike’ is minting moolah at the box office as it entered its sixth week of release. The film has earned over Rs 220 crore, making it so far one of the highest Bollywood grossers this year.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has minted 1.19 crore on Friday, a big achievement for a movie running for six weeks now. It is running in 860 screens across the country.

 

Some reports have suggested that the Pulwama terror attack has rekindled interest in the movie among cine goers. The war movie depicts India’s response following the Uri terror attack on September 18, 2016.

According to film critic and trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Uri is headed towards Rs 250 crore nett earning. “#Uri lifetime collection is heading towards ₹ 240-250 cr nett. Memorable BLOCKBUSTER. #UriTheSurgicalStrike.” Kadel tweeted.

 

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who has played the lead role in the movie, had expressed shock over the Pulwama incident.  “Deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news of the terror attack in #Pulwama. My heart goes out to the families of the brave CRPF soldiers we lost today and praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he had tweeted.
