Mumbai: Over the years, ‘Baby John’ actor Varun Dhawan has faced criticism on social media for allegedly misbehaving with his female co-stars.
Breaking his silence on the allegations, Varun, who appeared on Mishra’s podcast said that being playful with his female co-stars in a good space is not harmful.
“Chhedam-chhaadi, if it is done in a happy space, a good space, whether it is a man or a woman… I have fun with my male co-stars as well, but nobody mentions that,” said Varun when asked if he enjoys being naughty with his female co-stars.
During a promotional event, Varun was seen holding Alia Bhatt’s belly. When asked about the incident, the actor explained that he did it in fun as Alia is his friend. He went on to clarify that he was not flirting with Alia.
In another instance, Varun was seen kissing actress Kiara on her cheek during a cover shoot of a magazine.
When asked about the incident, the actor replied, “I’m glad you asked me this. It was planned. Both Kiara and I posted that clip. It was for a digital cover, and they wanted some movement and action, so we planned that.”
In another incident, Varun was seen trying to push Kiara into a pool while promoting ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’ and the actress was heard saying, “Stop it, ya.”
To this, Varun said, “That I did on purpose. It was all in good fun. It wasn’t planned. That’s just my nature, I guess.”
On work front, Varun Dhawan will be soon seen in Atlee’s ‘Baby John.’ Besides Varun, the film stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav also. It’s been reported that Salman Khan has a cameo in ‘Baby John.’ The film is slated to release on Christmas.
