Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday caught the Medical Officer of Gairabahal Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sundargarh district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from an autorickshaw driver.
On July 17, the driver and two passengers were injured when the autorickshaw met with an accident. The driver took the passengers to Gairabahal PHC for treatment where Dr Sarada Prasanna Behera allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 12,000. He allegedly threatened to inform the police otherwise.
The driver paid Rs 8,000. Later the Vigilance laid a trap and caught Dr Behera red-handed with Rs 4,000.
A case has been registered at Rourkela Vigilance police station.
