Flooded with greetings and congratulatory messages, Vijay will take oath as chief minister at a grand ceremony starting 11 am at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
TVK, which won 108 seats – including two constituencies where Vijay was victorious – managed to push the number up to 120 on Friday, thanks to support from Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPIM) and IUML.
Congress was the first party to extend support to TVK to help the largest single party form the government. But their 5 legislators wasn’t enough, leading the Governor to ask for sufficient support and causing a delay.
