VIPs Should Not Visit Rishabh Pant At Hospital, Urges DDCA Official

Dehradun: Ever since Rishabh Pant was shifted to Max Hospital here following a near-fatal car accident on Friday, the country has been praying for a quick and full recovery of Team India’s wicketkeeper-batsman.

Pant is stable, but is being treated for multiple injuries. He has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

Bollywood actors Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor called on Pant on Saturday, while several fans have been trying to check out first-hand how he’s doing.

But Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sharma on Sunday requested VIPS and fans to avoid visiting Pant while during his treatment.

“There should be no VIP movement to meet Pant, and people visiting him should avoid it as there are chances of infection for a patient,” Sharma quoted ANI as saying.

DDCA and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials are in constant touch with the hospital to be updated on Pant’s progress.

Board doctors are also in touch with doctors at the hospital, with BCCI secretary Jay Shah monitoring the situation.

If needed, Pant will be airlifted to Delhi from Dehradun.
