Virat Kohli Reviews ‘83’: What Impressed Him The Most In The Film?
Johannesburg: Kabir Khan’s film ‘83’ seems to be living up to the hype.
Released in theatres on December 24, early reactions suggest that the audience is loving the movie which is based on India’s epochal World Cup triumph in 1983 under Kapil Dev’s captaincy.
Even Virat Kohli has watched the movie in between preparations for the Test series in South Africa. And Team India’s Test captain is all praise for the ‘fantastically made movie’.
“Couldn’t have relived the most iconic moment of Indian cricket history in a better manner. A fantastically made movie which immerses you in the events and the emotion of the world cup in 1983. Splendid performances as well. @RanveerOfficial was a different level altogether. Great job everyone! @therealkapildev @kabirkhankk,” Kohli tweeted.
But the 33-year-old Kohli, who was born five-and-a-half years after Kapil lifted the coveted trophy at Lord’s, had a special word for Ranveer Singh. He felt Ranveer, who plays Kapil in the movie, was at a different level.
“@RanveerOfficial was a different level altogether. Great job everyone! @therealkapildev @kabirkhankk,” Kohli wrote further.
India begin their three-Test series against series with the first match at Johannesburg from December 26.
