[Watch] Muslim Man Sings ‘Mahabharat’ Title Song Without A Flaw
New Delhi: Amidst all the disturbing videos of people belonging to a particular community being coerced into mouthing Hindu slogans, comes a pleasant surprise in the form of this viral video.
A Muslim man’s rendition of the title song of BR Chopra’s TV serial ‘Mahabharat’ has won the hearts of thousands of people. The song, originally sung by Mahendra Kapoor is popular to this day.
The man starts singing the track with the iconic introduction of the mythological show ‘Mahabharat Katha’. He sings the verse and what is more, even pauses in between to imitate the blowing of the conch shell.
The video was shared by Dr SY Quraishi, the former chief election commissioner of India, on Twitter with the caption, “Breaking the stereotypes”.
The video has gone viral on the microblogging platform, garnering more than 1 lakh views and over 6,900 likes. Netizens have loved the man’s rendition of the song and were impressed with his pronunciation.
“Absolutely yes. A messiah of different type. The right kind. His Sanskrit pronunciation is so good.” Another wrote, “Beautiful; least because of the person’s attire. Such a great voice and clear pronunciation, not sure if I’d be half as good delivering a verse in Urdu. Refreshing.”
A third user posted, “Irrespective of his religion or dress. His voice & pronunciation is just amazing.” Yet another added, “Absolutely loved it; reminds me of childhood days when we used to run back home to watch the episode and get relived on hearing this music.”
