[Watch] President Confers Padma Bhushan On Eminent Odisha Writer Prithiba Ray, Padma Shri For Pramod Bhagat
Bhubaneswar: Eminent writer from Odisha Pratibha Ray received Padma Bhushan from President Ram Nath Kovind at the 2022 Civil Investiture Ceremony-II at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday, for her contribution to the field of literature and education.

A professor by profession and a writer by choice, she is a widely read author in Odisha and is also well known in the rest of the country through her translated works.

Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist shuttler from Odisha Pramod Bhagat was also conferred with Padma Shri on the occasion.

Seven eminent personalities from Odisha were picked by the government to receive the Padma awards this year.
On March 21, the President had conferred the award on litterateur Narasingha Prasad Guru, singer Dr Shyamamani Devi, biologist and academician Prof Aditya Prasad Dash and social activist Baba Balia from the state.
Former Union Secretary late Guru Prasad Mohapatra was conferred with the award posthumously for civil service and his wife, Anjali Mohapatra, had received the award from the President.
