[Watch] President Droupadi Murmu Arrives In Bhubaneswar On 2-Day Visit To Home State
Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu was received by she was received by Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on her arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, in a special flight around 10.50 am on Thursday.
This is her first visit to the home state after becoming the President on July 25. She hails from Odisha’s Rairangpur area in the tribal-dominated Mayurbhanj district.

According to sources, Droupadi flew to Puri after receiving the guard of honour at the airport. She will offer prayers to Lord Jagannath and will also go around other temples within the 12th-century shine in the Pilgrim Town. After garlanding the statue of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das near Singhadwar, the President will then leave for Raj Bhawan where she will be served ‘Mahaprasad’.

Around 24 platoons of police force and senior officers have been deployed in the town for the President’s visit. The entire stretch of the Grand Road leading to the temple has been barricaded to ensure smooth passage of the Presidential arcade. Devotees will be barred from entering the temple from 10.30 am till the President leaves the complex.
She will leave Puri by helicopter in the afternoon and attend a civic reception at Raj Bhavan here.
On Friday, the President will visit Tapoban High School and her alma mater Government Girls’ High School, in Bhubaneswar and interact with students and teachers. She will inaugurate an Odia textbook for engineering and other projects of the Union Ministry of Education from Jayadev Bhawan before flying back to New Delhi.
