[Watch] Protest At Delhi Airport Tarmac After Congress Leader Pawan Khera Deplaned From Raipur Flight

New Delhi: Delhi Airport witnessed drama on Thursday as a Congress delegation accompanying Pawan Khera, a senior Congress spokesperson, raised slogans against the BJP government at the tarmac after he was reportedly asked to get down from Raipur-bound IndiGo 6E204 flight.

Supriya Shrinate, Randeep Singh Surjewala, and KC Venugopal were part of the delegation, which was flying to Raipur for a meeting of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

Supriya Shrinate later tweeted:

“Unless the plane flies with all of us, including Pawan Khera ji, we will be here. We won’t tolerate this dictatorship,” Shrinate added as Congress members sat on the tarmac and raised slogans against the government.

According to reports, the flight staff told Congress leaders there was confusion with Khera’s bags and police were on their way to explain the reason to him. “I don’t know what happened. I was told there was some issue with my luggage. I told them I don’t have any luggage, I am just carrying a handbag. As I got down, I was told that I can’t fly as the DCP is coming to meet. Now I am waiting for the last 20 minutes for the DCP,” Pawan Khera was quoted as saying.

Delhi Police had reportedly received a request from the Assam Police to stop Pawan Khera from flying, an ANI report said.

“This is a dictatorial attitude. The dictator got ED raids done before the session and now he has come down to this kind of act,” the Congress tweeted.

On Monday, the ED raided the premises linked to at least eight Congress leaders and office bearers in Chhattisgarh in an alleged money laundering case. Pawan Khera was also criticised for referring to Narendra Damodardas Modi as Narendra Gautamdas Modi during a recent press conference attacking the government on the Gautam Adani issue.
