Weekend Shutdown Imposed In This Odisha District To Contain COVID-19 Spread
Sambalpur: The Sambalpur administration on Monday declared weekend shutdown in the entire district during the month of August as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.
“All essential shops and establishments will function,” the administration tweeted.
According to the official order, no two-wheelers except for the exempted categories/activities will be allowed to ply.
Only medical establishments including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, medicine stores, movement of the ambulance and all medical personnel will be allowed during this period.
The restrictions have also been relaxed for these following people and services:
— District Emergency and Municipal Administration/Police/Fire Services/ Excise Officials/ Forest Officials Central and State Government Officials on emergency duty
— Telecom services, Petrol Pumps and Print and Electronic media identified by District Police are exempted from the shutdown.
— LPG distribution, home delivery of cooking gas and associated facilities, personnel and vehicular movement
— Water Supply, sanitation and sewerage workers, electricity supply and distribution and movement of goods and good carriers, whether loaded or unloaded
— Industrial establishments, factories, mining operation and construction activities (government agencies)
— Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Services and allied activities
— The service sector, industries, including IT/ITES, hotel and hospitality units, operation of hotels and hospitality units, including their associated offices, movement of staff and associated personnel.
— Road transport on highways and movement of transiting vehicles
