Shillong: Were there more people involved in the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi in Sohra, Meghalaya, on May 23, than the five already arrested. Raja was on his honeymoon to Meghalaya when his wife Sonam allegedly got him killed with the help of her paramour Raj Kushwaha and his friends.
Sonam, Kushwaha and three others have been arrested so far in the case. However, a woman who claims to have met Sonam at the Varanasi Cantt bus terminus in Uttar Pradesh on June 7 has now said that she was dropped there by two masked men who do not resemble any of those arrested.
“The three spoke but I could not make out what they were saying. Sonam, who looked calm and composed, then came and sat beside me on the bus. She was sipping mango juice. This happened around 10.30 pm,” the woman, identified as Ujala Yadav, has said.
Sonam then apparently asked her on how to reach Gorakhpur. When Ujala tried to watch the news about Raja’s murder on her mobile phone, Sonam asked her not to follow such ‘useless’ stuff. It was much later that Ujala came to know that the woman who had traveled with her was Sonam. By then, the police had taken Sonam into custody from an eatery on the highway at Ghazipur.
Ujala spoke to Raja’s brother Sachin about the incident. Raja’s family has been demanding that the arrested persons be made to undergo narco-tests as they have not yet revealed the whole story.
“Sonam stayed in Indore for 14 days after my brother’s murder. She must have had help. These people need to be identified. According to Ujala Yadav, the men who dropped her off are not among the accused arrested so far. Who are these individuals? Sonam must reveal their identities. We are insisting on a narco test to uncover the full truth,” he added.
