Bollywood’s affiliation with drugs and alcohol is nothing new. Its association with the drug mafia is also well known. There are instances galore of stars, both male and female, being hauled up at airports and in parties for either possessing or consuming drugs.

While some of the news reports may be just rumours and others hearsay, there is certainly evidence to prove that ‘there is a lot of substance in the news of substance abuse’.

The latest in this string is the video of a party at Karan Johar’s house, that is doing the rounds on the social media. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, sitting MLA of Rajouri Garden, New Delhi, on Tuesday took to Twitter to share a video from the party and accused these actors and filmmakers of being drugged.”#UDTABollywood – Fiction Vs Reality. Watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunt their drugged state!! I raise my voice against #DrugAbuse by these. RT if you too feel disgusted @shahidkapoor @deepikapadukone @arjunk26 @Varun_dvn @karanjohar vickykaushal09 (sic),” he wrote.

The video shows all of them partying with some music in the background. After watching the video, many people on social media began wondering if most of the stars like Deepika, Malaika, Varun, Vicky and Ranbir were possibly in a ‘drugged state’, reported International Business Times.

One popular Twitter handle shared the video with the caption that read, “And these drug addicts are role models of millions.”

Although there is no solid proof that these celebs were under the influence of drugs, they are being called “hypocrites” as many of them including, Varun, Vicky and Arjun, have campaigned against drug abuse.

However, former Telecom Minister, Milind Deora rubbished the claims about the Bollywood celebrities being in a ‘drugged state’ saying that his wife was also present there. He even tendered an unconditional apology from Sirsa for spreading ‘lies’ and defaming people whom he doesn’t know personally.
“My wife was also present that evening (and is in the video). Nobody was in a “drugged state” so stop spreading lies & defaming people you don’t know! I hope you will show the courage to tender an unconditional apology,” Milind Deora replied to Sirsa’s tweet, the report added.

Here are instances of Bollywood stars being caught in the net:

1. Sanjay Dutt: Who doesn’t know his story.
2. Ranbir Kapoor: Admitted to having pot, when he was in film school.
3. Vijay Raaz: Was arrested at the Dubai airport in 2005 with 25 grams of marijuana.
4. Fardeen Khan: Was arrested in Juhu in 2001 for possessing cocaine.
5. Aftab Shivdasani: Was allegedly caught with drugs in a Pune nightclub.
6. Mamata Kulkarni: Was caught in a drug racket in Kenya.
7. Angad Bedi: Was caught by the police at a rave party in Mumbai.
8. Parveen Babi: It is reported that she was addicted to LSD.
