When Punjabi Boney Kapoor ‘Converted’ & Started Having Idli-Sambar For Sridevi
Bhubaneswar: The second season of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ opened with Kapil Sharma in conversation with the ‘Jigra’ team, including Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar and Vasan Bala.
Next up on Kapil’s popular show will be the star cast of ‘Devara’.
In a recently-released promo, Kapil is seen discussing the North-South connection with Janhvi Kapoor, Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, who also share their experience from the sets of ‘Devara’.
“North aur South jab milte hain tab maza double ho jata hai (When North and South meet, the fun is doubled),” Kapil quips in the trailer of the upcoming episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’.
During the hilarious banter, Janhvi fondly remembers the bond shared by her late mother Sridevi and father Boney Kapoor who were poles apart, as one was from south and the other from north India.
Jahnvi revealed that Boney, who hailed from a Punjabi family, started eating idli-sambar because of his south Indian wife Sridevi. On the other hand, Sridevi used to fight with Boney like a north Indian, Janhvi recalled.
“Papa had already converted. He would have idli-sambar for breakfast instead of aloo parathas. By the end of it, Mom started fighting like a north Indian,” said Janhvi.
Adding to the hilarious banter, Jr NTR complains about Jahnvi not being a good host during his stay in Mumbai.
The ‘RRR’ star says that when they were shooting for the film in Hyderabad, he had treated Jahnvi with delicious Hyderabadi food, but when he came down to Mumbai, the actress never offered him anything to eat.
“I’ve been in Mumbai for a day, but not even a morsel has come my way,” said Jr NTR.
When asked about their favourite actress, both Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan chose Sridevi.
