Bhubaneswar: As part of efforts to ensure successful implementation of Subhadra Yojana, the Odisha government has already made it clear that there is no deadline for the registration process for the ambitious scheme.

While the government is making all out efforts to ensure that no eligible woman is left out of the scheme, many people seem to be confused about the registration process and eligibility criteria.

Following the huge rush witnessed at Mo Seva Kendras and other places after the application process for the scheme commenced, the government announced that there is no last date for submission of forms. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida had made it clear that there is no deadline for the registration process and people need not create huge rush for submitting forms.

The Deputy CM has now explained as to why there is no specific deadline for submission of application forms for Subhadra Yojana. The huge rush witnessed on the first day of registration showed that the situation may go out of control if a deadline is fixed for submission of forms, Parida told the media.

“More than once crore people are likely to apply for the scheme and it would have been difficult to handle the rush with a deadline for registration. Therefore, we decided that there will be no deadline. The registration process will continue till the last beneficiary submits the application form,” she said.

Stating that someone who applies in October or November will also get the first instalment under the scheme, Parida said the second instalment will be given on March 8 and every beneficiary will get Rs 50,000 in 10 instalments of Rs 5000 each under the scheme.

Noting that people having doubts are being assisted through the helpline number, she said on an average 30,000-32,000 calls are being received every day. The number of calls received at the call centre shows that the form distribution is being conducted properly by the Anganwadi workers, the Deputy CM said.

She said Mission Shakti members along with Bank Mitras, Anganwadi workers have been directed to help beneficiaries fill up the application form.

There are 74,000 Anganwadi centres in Odisha and the Subhadra Yojana forms are being distributed to the beneficiaries through them, while Mission Shakti members are helping the applicants how to fill the forms and clearing all doubts about the scheme. Trained people like MBK, CRP-CM, Bank Mitra and Prani Mitra working at the Grama Panchayat-level are also helping in the process, she said.

On steps being taken to prevent ghost beneficiaries from getting the benefits of the scheme, Parida said the Aadhaar card number would help the government in ascertaining the real age of the applicants. The government wants the money to reach to the women and not even to their husbands.

Moreover, implementation of Subhadra Yojana will be monitored by the Chief Secretary and at the grassroot level by the women who have become self-sufficient through different schemes, the Deputy CM added.
