Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to embark on a five-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Tuesday to attract investments to the state and strengthen commercial and cultural ties with the Gulf nation.

Ahead of the high-profile visit, the Chief Minister stated that Odisha is emerging as a preferred destination for global investment with a strong focus on ease of doing business (EoDB), enabling policies, and faster execution. The vision is to make Odisha the first choice for investors, Majhi said.

According to an official statement, Majhi will travel to New Delhi on Tuesday before proceeding to Abu Dhabi. On September 9, he is scheduled to meet senior representatives of global companies, including International Holding Company (IHC), the Indian Business and Professional Group and petrochemical major Borouge.

An exhibition showcasing various Odisha products under the ‘One District One Product’ initiative is also scheduled to be inaugurated in Dubai on the same evening.

On September 10, he is scheduled to meet UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, who is also Chairman of the Council of International Investments. He will also meet representatives of the Indian Business and Professional Council and the leadership of Emirates Global Aluminium. A round-table with the Middle East Recycling Association and an interaction with the Odisha business delegation are also planned.

Officials said the Chief Minister will attend the ‘Odisha Investors Meet’ in Dubai on September 11, where he will showcase investment opportunities in the state and interact with entrepreneurs and industrialists. An interaction with the Odia diaspora is also scheduled.

Majhi is expected to return to Bhubaneswar on September 12. The official statement said the visit is part of the state government’s efforts to accelerate industrialisation and attract capital investment to Odisha.

The Chief Minister will be accompanied by Industries Minister, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department and other senior state government officials.
