Deogarh: A woman and her minor son were electrocuted at a village in Odisha’s Deogarh district after accidentally coming in contact with a live wire on Saturday.
As per information, the incident took place at Kamarpal village under the jurisdiction of Kundheigola police station in the district in the afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Upabasi Bhutia (40), wife of Niranjan Bhutia, and her son Manoprit Bhutia (7).
Sources said Upabasi got electrocuted after she accidentally touched a live wire connected to a water pump, installed at a well near her house. The boy also met the same fate when he tried to save his mother, reports said.
The two were rescued by the villagers who rushed them to nearby hospital. However, both were declared dead by the doctors.
