Berhampur: A woman allegedly strangulated her husband to death after a heated argument and tried to pass it off as a case of suicide at Mundamurai village under Dharakote police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Amar Nayak.
According to sources, the incident took place late on Tuesday after a verbal spat broke out between Amar and his wife, Anjana Nayak, and soon escalated into a physical altercation. In a fit of rage, Anjana allegedly strangled Amar to death. She then tried to stage the scene to look like a suicide. However, locals, suspecting foul play, alerted police.
On being informed, Dharakote police reached the spot and seized the body for postmortem. Anjana was taken into custody for questioning.
