Workers Of Unorganised Sectors Deprived Of Central Schemes For State Govt’s Inefficiency, Says Odisha BJP President
Bhubaneswar: The workers of unorganised sectors have been deprived of welfare schemes of the Centre due to inefficiency of the state government in implementing those, said Odisha BJP president Samir Mohanty on Saturday.
Speaking at the unorganised workers’ conference organised in the city as part of BJP’s ‘Social Justice Fortnight’, Mohanty said the Centre has created social security fund for the benefit of 38 crore workers of these sectors. The BJP givernment is also providing Rs 3,000 every month to the unorganised workers as financial assistance, but they are deprived of the benefit due to the state government’s inefficiency, he added.
The BJP leader also interacted with workers and heard their grievances at the meet. They said there is an urgent need for setting up a ‘Shramik Haat’ (labour market) in Bhubaneswar to ensure their daily employment. Health and education facilities, labour card, Ayushman Bharat card and land for landless workers were their other demands.
The BJP is observing ‘Social Justice Fortnight’ to understand and get the feedback about the problems faced by these labourers from April 7 to 20.
