World Cup: India’s Golden Saga Continues As Shooters Win Mixed Team Events

New Delhi: Teenaged Indian shooters continued their fine form in the ISSF World Cup here on Monday by clinching gold medals in both the 10m air pistol and 10m air rifle events.

The 18-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker, 19, clinched the 10m air pistol mixed team gold medal as the hosts consolidated their top position in the overall tally.

Saurabh and Manu beat Iran’s Golnoush Sebhatollahi and Javed Foroughi 16-12 to fetch India its fifth gold in the World Cup. It was Saurabh and Manu’s fifth World Cup mixed team gold medal.

Earlier, 18-year-old Divyansh Singh Panwar and 21-year-old Elavenil Valarivan combined brilliantly to claim the 10m mixed air rifle gold. The India duo tamed Hungary’s world No. 1 duo of Istvan Peni and Eszter Denes.
