Yoga In Water: ODRAF Jawans Show How To Do It In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: As part of the celebration of 8th International Yoga Day, the ODRAF jawans displayed yoga practice in water in Odisha capital on Tuesday.

Under the guidance of well-known yoga trainer Ashok Baral, the jawans of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) practised yoga in water on the premises of 7th Battalion of Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP) in Bhubaneswar.

Speaking to the media about this unique yoga practice, Baral said, “All human beings can remain floating on water due to the body structure. But people drown in the water due to their fear and lack of awareness about the posture to remain afloat.”

Baral also showed to the media how to remain floating on water and do the yoga. “It is, in fact, very simple. Once you go into water, keep your body straight with face looking towards sky and you will float automatically. For our fear that we would drown, we forget to do it while even small animals know it without anybody training them,” he said.

As Baral showed it, the ODRAF jawans followed him. He crossed his legs as in Padmasan and did different asanas.

On the occasion, he also appealed to the world to stop war and live peacefully. “Man is not born to kill or get killed. As the most intelligent animal, we have a responsibility to contribute make this earth a better living place,” he said.
