Rayagada: A young man went missing after he slipped and fell while taking a selfie at a waterfall in Odisha’s Rayagada district.
As per preliminary information, the incident took place at Tayangiri waterfall in Kashipur block of the district on Thursday evening. The missing youth was identified Joka Bisoi of Jereka village under Godibali panchayat.
Sources said the youth had gone out with four or five friends. While posing for a selfie at the waterfall, he reportedly lost balance and fell. His friends carried out an extensive search but failed to locate him.
After receiving information, teams from Kashipur police station and the fire service launched a search operation for him. As it is a remote and inaccessible border area, and due to excessive darkness, further searching was not possible. Efforts are underway to trace him and further details are awaited.
