Balugaon: In a tragic incident, a youth was killed and another injured after a motorcycle on which they were travelling dashed against a roadside tree on Banapur-Bhatapada road in Khurda district on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Ramachandra Sahu, a Plus II student hailing from Gambharimunda area.
Dipul Pradhan, who suffered critical injuries was rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was later shifted to Bhubaneswar for better treatment.
According to local residents, either a brake failure or overspeeding was the reason behind the mishap.
Police have started an investigation into the matter.
