11 Places In Odisha Sizzle As Temperature Soars Above 40 Degree C

Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions persisted in most places of Odisha on Monday with Titlagarh recording the highest temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius.

The mercury hovered above 40 degrees Celsius at 11 places, mostly in western parts of the state, while the coastal areas experienced cloudy conditions.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, Sonepur recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius followed by Jharsuguda (43.8). Balangir (43.5), Sambalpur (43), Bhawanipatna (42.2), Hirakud (42.1), Sundargarh (42), Talcher (41.6), Angul (41.3) and Malkangiri (41.1).

Similarly, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 and 35.4 degree Celsius respectively.

The weatherman had also forecast a rise in temperature from May 10. The day temperature is expected to touch 43 degree Celsius in most parts of western Odisha.
