Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two minor brothers drown in a canal near Aukhama village in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Rudranarayan Sahu (17) and Anshuman Sahu (14), sons of Manoranjan Sahu.
According to sources, the brothers were playing near Raidih Rengali Canal in the afternoon when the younger brother accidentally fell into the water. In a bid to save his younger brother, Rudranarayan jumped into the canal, but both drowned.
Locals launched a search operation and rescued the brothers. Both were rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Dhenkanal. However, the doctors declared both dead on arrival.
