Ferozepur: Three members of a family were injured after a Pakistani drone hit a residential area in Punjab’s Ferozepur district on Friday evening.
They have been rushed to hospital for treatment.
“Due to a drone bomb, three people got injured. Among them, the condition of a woman, who has suffered severe burns, is critical. The other two have lesser burns. We have immediately started their treatment. They are from the same family,” ANI reported, quoting Dr Kamal Bagi.
He added that one among them is a young man of around 25-30 years. “We may have to refer the woman for better treatment,” he added.
SSP Ferozepur, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, had earlier confirmed the incident. “We received information about 3 people being injured. They have burn injuries. Doctors will take care of them. Majority of the drones have been neutralised by the Army…,” he added.
According to reports, the incident took place when a car caught fire at Khai Pheme Ki village, located 12km from Ferozepur on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road. There were complete blackouts in Jammu, Akhnoor, Ferozepur, and Udhampur as Pakistan launched fresh sorties around 8.30 pm.
Amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Tendiwala, Kaluwala, Hajara Singh Wala, and Ghatti Rajjo Kee in Ferozepur had earlier witnessed voluntary evacuations.
The Border Security Force (BSF) troops in Punjab’s Ferozepur sector had also shot dead an unidentified Pakistani intruder when he tried to enter the Indian territory on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
