Bhubaneswar: Amid a nationwide row over the alleged deletion of eligible voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral roll, the Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Wednesday launched a special drive to enrol voters who may have been left out during the exercise.
Deputy Chief Electoral officer Laxmi Prasad Sahu said the enrolment of eligible left-out voters, if any, will continue till the end of October. However, a three-day special campaign beginning Wednesday will focus on identifying such voters and facilitating their inclusion in the electoral roll, he added.
“As part of the special drive, booth-level officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits with lists of deleted voters to verify whether any eligible voter has been inadvertently left out and enrol them,” Sahu said.
The CEO’s office has urged citizens to check the electoral roll and submit Form 6 if their names are missing. Young voters who attained 18 years of age as on 1 October 2026, will also be eligible for inclusion in the voter list.
