7-Day Shutdown In This Odisha Town From Sunday

Jharsuguda: Following a spike in COVID-19 cases, the district administration has declared a seven-day shutdown in Jharsugda town, starting Sunday (August 30).

All shops, business establishments, government, and private institutions will remain shut and movement/assembly of people will be prohibited during this period.

However, shops selling grocery items, vegetables, milk, eggs, fish, and other essential commodities will open for five hours in a day – 6 am to 11 am – during the shutdown till September 5.

Medicine stores and banks will also remain open.

There will be no weekend shutdown this Saturday, the administration informed.

Jharsuguda has so far reported 1033 positive cases. While 617 patients have recovered, the virus has claimed one life in the district.
