Over 100 Migrant Odisha Workers From Surat Flee Quarantine Centres In Odisha

Berhampur: More than 100 migrant Odia workers reportedly left the two government quarantine centres in Khallikote block of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday.

According to reports, the workers had arrived in Khallikote block in two buses from Surat on Saturday. They were then shifted to two quarantine centres at Janata High School and Adarsha Vidyalaya in Beguniapada panchayat.

After spending the night at these centres, the workers left this morning, alleging non-supply of food and water.

The district administration is yet to issue any clarification on this incident

Notably, two Surat-returned youths had tested positive for COVID-19 in Ganjam district on Saturday.
