Maneka Gandhi Calls Upon Women To Assert Themselves

Bhubaneswar: Brushing aside the age-old thinking that they were victims of the society’s prejudices, women should assert themselves and inspire others to chart a new course for their ilk, MP Maneka Gandhi has said.

“Women should always inspire, motivate and encourage other women. They must stop thinking of themselves as victims,” she said while addressing a virtual women’s leadership summit organised by the SOA Deemed to be University in collaboration with ObserveNow Media recently.

SOA’s Dean (Research and Development), Prof PK Nanda said SOA is a woman centric university where 47 per cent of students are women who pursue their studies in different disciplines. Besides, women constitute 35 per cent of the faculty who are engaged in academic and research activities. SOA’s focus was on enabling women to have greater participation in all fields of society, he added.

A large group of women HR leaders were honoured on the occasion for their significant contribution in the field of HR. The session was attended by female faculty members and students of the university.

The HR leaders who were honoured included Vishpala Ready, Head (HR), Philips; Shraddhanjali Rao, CHRO, SAP India; Ruchira Bharadwaj, CHRO, Future Generali; Rishu Garg, Vice-President and Head HR, G4S; Reetu Raina, CHRO, Quick Heal; Rajita Singh, Head HR, Broadridge; Ankita Sinha, Senior Vice-President, HR, Cignex; Saswati Sinha, Head HR, CHEIL; Swati Shukla, Director HR, Netflix; Dr. Reema Chowdhury, CHRO, Datamatics; Deepa Chadha, VHRO, Air Vistara; Puja Kapoor, Head HR, Olx and Sunita Rath, Chief People Officer, Aegon Life.
