New Delhi: Banks will be closed for 56 days in the coming year, according to the holiday list for 2021 released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The RBI said the holidays have been decided according to different states. Some holidays will apply to banks across the country, while some are for specific states.

Notably, the banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month except Sundays.

January 1, Friday – New Year’s Day

January 2, Saturday – New Year’s Holiday

January 9, Second Saturday

January 11, Monday – Missionary Day

January 14, Thursday – Makar Sankranti and Pongal

Due to Thiruvalluvar Day on January 15, banks will have holidays in some states

January 23, Fourth Saturday

January 26, Tuesday – Republic Day

February 16, Tuesday – Vasant Panchami

February 27, Fourth Saturday – Guru Ravidas Jayanti
