Mumbai: Comedian Kapil Sharma was on Thursday summoned by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police and his statement recorded in connection the alleged cheating and forgery case involving car designer Dilip Chhabria.
Kapil had given money to Chhabria to build a vanity van for him. But as Chhabria didn’t get the work done, Kapil registered a case with the police.

“Kapil Sharma was called by the CIU to record his statement in the fake vehicle registration case in which car designer Dilip Chhabria is already under our custody. Sharma has lodged a complaint against him,” CNN-News18 quoted a senior policeman as saying.
Chhabria, owner of car modification studio ‘DC’, has been booked under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120 (B), and 34 of the IPC.
