Odisha: Daily COVID Caseload Remains Below 500 For 2nd Consecutive Day
Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 500 for second consecutive day on Saturday as 478 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 477 COVID cases on Friday, 602 on Thursday, 565 on Wednesday, 545 on Tuesday and 585 on Monday.
Of the fresh infections reported from 21 districts, 57 cases (11.92%) are below 18 years of age.
According to the I & PR department, 281 of the new cases are from quarantine and 197 local contacts.
Khurda district reported the highest 211 new infections, followed by Cuttack (57) and Jagatsinghpur (29). Nine districts reported nil cases.

Besides, 47 are from the state pool.
Odisha has now 5,336 active cases.
With these fresh cases detected from 69,251 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) dropped to 0.69% from 0.72% of the previous day. The TPR was 0.88% on Thursday, 0.96% on Wednesday and 1.03% on Tuesday.
